WHAT IS A SMALL GROUP?

Several small groups meet weekly to study the Bible, to pray together, and to support and encourage each other in our faith. The following groups will begin meeting again this fall and welcome new participants. Contact the leader for more specifics about the group. Each group prays and looks forward to who the Lord will send to join them!

WHAT DO SMALL GROUPS DO?

There are usually three elements in each small group. The emphasis varies depending on the nature of the group and how long the people have been together. These elements are:

  1. Study - A study of some aspect of the Christian faith or experience, usually using the Bible or a Christian book.
  2. Sharing - Through personal sharing, listening, affirmation, and prayer, a supportive Christian community is built.
  3. Mission - The group looks for ways of applying what they have learned and experienced for the benefit of others.

The Dinner Club

This is a great way to make some new friends in the church while enjoying a night out with six to eight other people Dinner Club groups meet once a month to share a meal together and discuss a devotional thought provided by the group or the pastor. The meeting nights, meal preparations, and locations are up to each group. The groups will meet monthly through next June. Each group will include someone you know, and someone you don’t know as well. A large Dinner Club Bar-B-Q will be planned for July to conclude the year. The first Dinner Cub meal will be a Progressive Dinner on Friday night, October 2. You will find out who your Dinner Club members are that night. If interested, sign up on a pew card, call the office, or speak to Dennis.
