Worship Ministry

The Chancel Choir leads us in our hymns and provides an anthem each Sunday during the traditional service.

There are many ways to worship God, and that can be seen in all of the different parts of our worship services. On Sundays, we meet in the sanctuary at 9:00 am for what we call our traditional service. In this service, we intersperse our music with prayers, a children’s story, an offering and the sermon (message). We use the hymnbook to sing songs together and the bulletin leads through the different parts of the service.

The contemporary service is led by the Praise and Worship music team.

At 10:00 we hold our Sunday School hour (see Christian Ed). Classes are held for all age groups, from pre-K to Adult. Coffee and light refreshments are available in the dining room for those who wish to relax and catch up with each other.
On the final Sunday of each month in both services, we honor our military. We recognize those who have served and are serving by lighting candles and saying prayers.

Our 11:00 service also meets in the sanctuary. It is considered a contemporary service because it follows a different format and relies on different kinds of music. The sermon is the same as the early service. In this hour, we open the service with Praise and Worship songs. The music team is made up of guitars, piano and drum. Words are on an overhead projector for all to follow and sing along with. After about 15 minutes of singing and praying, we have the children’s story and the sermon from Pastor Doerr. We end the service with another praise song.

Worshiping God is something we as Christians do every day and in many ways. On Sunday mornings we have the freedom and the privilege to do so together as a community. We lift our voices, our hearts, our praise and thanks to our Heavenly Father for all He has done for us. Won’t you join us?

The Youth Choir practices each week and sings for us in both services. Youth from Kindergarten through senior high make up this fun group.

Our bell choir contributes to both services many times during the year. They practice every week and attend a bell festival during the summer.
